Final Fantasy X: Standard vs Expert Sphere Grid I discovered an option I hadn’t seen before when I first booted up my copy of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. Characters are fairly separated and switching onto a different path is difficult. With expert you can make some more interesting build up to the final boss, but you can also end up with weaker characters. The standard sphere grid will have each character start out on a fairly clearly defined path, according to their default role - that means Lulu as a Black Mage, Auron as a Warrior, and so on. For the grid - while i do like the expert sphere grid imo standard is 'better' for normal playing - the provided paths work out good enough by just following the paths. They have all the same abilities on them, just in different places. The grids mainly differ in layout, and slightly in the total number of nodes. It's always been in the game, since the oldest PS2 days.
